The path to self-employment is not a straight line!
It’s a quantum leap!Starting your own activity is like moving out from your parents.
Only then you realize what they were doing for you all these years.
Even if your job sucks, there is a comfort to it.
- You work in your area of expertise
- You have a regular pay check
- You have limited responsibility
- You have paid holidays and sick leave
- You have regular work hours
When you leave your corporate job and jump into becoming an entrepreneur, you will soon discover that being good at what you are doing is not enough!
Now you need to manage all areas of your business and yourself! When I first started out in 2008 I just jumped into it.
I had to learn swimming whilst I was in the water, and I was not a good business swimmer!
I wish my now-ME had been there to help me start out with more confidence and wisdom!
It seems, many start out like this!
The other day I heard a podcast with Nikki Nash, from Market your Genius. She said:
“No-one is really knowing what they are doing when they are starting a business,…
I wish a mentor would have told me:
1. To focus on long-term strategy and goals versus short-time wins and results
2. Is this really the business you want to be in for the next 5, 10, 20 years?
3. What do you really want as a business owner?
4. Take a step back and really look at what you are building.
Think before you start doing!”
These words really touched me!
I could have been that mentor!
It gave me the confirmation that what I am offering is valuable for new entrepreneurs!
I help entrepreneurs in the gestational period to think and feel deep!
I want to help them align their work with who they are and know what they want!
What area of your business do you need to feel deep into?
